Remedy of the Day: Tangled Hair?

Do you have knots and tangles when you try to brush your wet hair?

You should always have a wide tooth comb in your shower.  Shampoo your hair and leave the conditioner in, take your wide tooth comb and start at the ends working your way to the top, rinse out conditioner. This will also prevent breakage when you brush out your hair.
**Always remember to start at the bottom and work your way to the top.

Conair has a really great inexpensive comb with a hook at the end. Perfect for shower time!

Remedy of the Day: Broken Eye Shadows?

Cream eye shadows are great...But I never buy them.  I make my own.

You can crush up your broken eye shadows and mix them with a dab of vaseline or your favorite eye cream; mix to a consistency that you like. Transfer to a empty makeup palette and now you have a new cream shadow.

** Don't toss out the containers that come with your makeup. Clean them up and reuse! You can also purchase empty make-up palettes for about $10.

Before putting on your winter hat (or touque for the canadians), wrap your hair with a silk scarf.  The silk will help prevent static cling.

Remedy of the Day: Dry Hands?

Are your hands dry and flaky during these winter months?  Working at a hair salon has taken a toll on my precious hands...This a nice hand mask I like to make:
Mix a teaspoon of dry oatmeal, a teaspoon of honey, about 5 drops of almond oil and 3 tablespoons of full fat greek yogurt.  Rub this mask onto your hands and leave on for 5-10 minutes.  This is a great at home moisturizing mask that you and also use on your feet!

Remedy of the Day: Creased Eye Shadow?

Did you forget to prime your eyes? Do you have eye shadow build up? Need an instant fix?

You may want to add more eye shadow, but this will only cake up more and look crusty.  Try a little vaseline on the tip of your finger to even out the eye shadow on your lid.

Use bronzer to warm, not color your skin.  Use a bronzer close to your natural tone.  With a large soft-bristled brush; apply the bronzer to your cheeks, forehead, chin and the bridge of your nose.  Finish with a dusting of warm, pinkish blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Recession America?

I feel that as an American patriot that it is my duty to provide this fine country with cost effective makeup, hair and fashion trends.  During the 1940's American women focused on big curls and bright lipstick, while their clothing was simple and practical (wartime fashion).  During this time of hardship, I want to provide women with simple beauty techniques.
Come on ladies...Join the Pretty Cheap Revolution!
